Viola Nordgren Jacobson

Our lovely mom died at 97. She was also Grandma, Great Grandma, Oma, even Great-Great-Grandma and of course, Vi to her friends and our dad. Always active and with a quick wit, she survived the depression and then many years as an Army wife, moving 32 times with husband Joseph Jacobson who lived to 99. All those moves didn't dampen her sense of adventure. She traveled with Joe throughout world in later years, camping and fishing when back in Utah where they also loved raising vegetables and canning fruit from their trees. Both were dynamite bowlers and when they sat still, both wrote. Vi edited Joe's work and spent time on her journals and Memoirs.

Though we are heartbroken to say goodbye, we know our mom had remarkable life before and during her 75 year marriage. We miss our mom the way only a mom can be missed. She's on the Donor Wall now with our dad and her ashes will join his and her oldest grandson's, Todd Park, in the Donor Plot in the Salt Lake City Cemetary. If they can't be with us then we are glad they are at least together and we all admire their generosity in joining to the Body Donor Program.
